It is an epiphytic orchid characterized by its slender, grass-like leaves that grow in a fan shape. The leaves are typically ensiform (sword-shaped), giving the plant its name. It produces delicate, densely packed flower spikes that can carry numerous tiny, star-shaped flowers. The flowers are usually yellowish to greenish in color, with a somewhat translucent appearance.
