It is a large, evergreen, woody climber. Leaves are glossy, dark green, and leathery, elliptic to oblong-lanceolate with entire margins. Flowers are small, tubular, and arranged in clusters or cymes at the ends of the stems. Each flower has five petals and is typically white or cream-colored. Fruits are slender, cylindrical fruits.
