It is a perennial herb. Stem decumbent to erect, glabrous. Leaves ovate-oblong or lanceolate, acute to obtuse at apex, truncate to rounded at base. Inflorescence umbel terminated by a small cymose group of flowers of 2-5. Flowers are red-purple.
April - September
Leaves are consumed as leafy vegetables and consumed in liver problems. Leaf juice with honey is used to cure stomach pain.
