It is a small, evergreen tree. It has smooth, thin bark that is pale brown or whitish, with peeling layers. The leaves are opposite, oval to oblong, with prominent veins. The tree produces white, five-petaled flowers with numerous stamens, and the fruit is round or oval with a green or yellow outer skin, and a soft, sweet pulp that can be white, pink, or red inside, containing numerous small seeds.
Throughout the year
It is widely used in traditional medicine for treating gastrointestinal issues like diarrhea and dysentery.
