It is a succulent, branched, prostrate or spreading annual herb. Leaves are succulent and cylindrical, arranged alternately along the stems. They are often clustered at the ends of branches. Flowers are small, yellow, and bowl-shaped, with five petals.
Leaves are cooked as leafy vegetables. Leaves soup is used in constipation.
