It is a medium to large-sized tree Bark is typically dark brown to black in color Leaves are simple, alternate, entire, and elliptic to oblong in shape. Flowers are small, inconspicuous, and arranged in clusters or solitary at the leaf axils. They are typically greenish-white to pale yellow in color. Fruit is a berry, typically spherical to ovoid in shape. The fruit starts green and turns yellow or orange as it ripens. It contains one to several seeds embedded in a fleshy pulp.
