It is a small tree with greyish brown bark and rusty tomentose branchlets. Leaves are paripinnate, leaflets ovate to obovate, chartaceous and acute apex. Flowers white to cream, fragrant, tomentose, irregular. Fruit fleshy, oblong, edible, red to black on ripening.
March - September
The fruit is used for the treatment of diarrhea and dysentery and wood as fuelwood.
