Descriptions

It is a medium-sized, deciduous tree that grows up to 25 meters in height. The bark is thick, dark, and deeply fissured, while the leaves are simple, ovate to elliptical, leathery, and have a glossy green surface. The tree produces small, bell-shaped, creamy-white to pale yellow flowers, which are fragrant. The fruit is a berry, round and fleshy, turning reddish-brown or black when ripe, containing several seeds.
