It is a large deciduous tree characterized by a stout trunk and a wide, spreading crown. The tree produces distinctive flowers that are large, bell-shaped, and can be yellowish-green to reddish in color, typically found in clusters. The fruit is a woody, capsule-like structure that contains several seeds surrounded by a fibrous pulp.
