It is an herbaceous perennial plant. It typically grows in a rosette formation, with basal leaves that are lobed and toothed. The plant produces single flower heads on long, sturdy stems. Each flower head consists of colorful ray florets surrounding a central disk of smaller, tubular florets. Flowers are orange to red in color.

It is used for ornamental purposes.
