It is a sympodial orchid with cylindrical pseudobulbs. Its oblong, leathery leaves grow alternately along the pseudobulbs. Inflorescences emerge from nodes, bearing 5-10 showy, fragrant flowers per raceme. Flowers white or cream with yellow or orange markings on the lip. Thick, fleshy roots adapt to epiphytic growth.

It is used to treat gastrointestinal issues such as stomach pain and indigestion.
