It is a small to medium sized tree. Leaves are alternate, ovate to elliptic in shape, and typically have a pointed tip. They are densely hairy, especially on the underside, giving them a rough texture. Fruits are figs, flowers enclosed within a fleshy receptacle. The figs are typically green when young, turning yellow or orange when ripe.
Throughout the year
Root juice is used in the treatment of fever. Fruits are edible by birds.
