It is a medium to large sized tree. Bark is whitish grey in color, smooth, covered with blisters. Leaves are alternate, simple, and have an elliptic to obovate shape. Flowers are small, greenish yellow in color. They are borne in clusters, usually in axillary panicles. Fruits are samaras, often called "helicopters" due to their shape and the way, they spin as they fall. Each samara contains a single seed and is surrounded by a membranous wing.
