It is a perennial climbing vine. It features large, heart-shaped leaves with a dense, silky underside. The plant produces trumpet-shaped, lavender to pink flowers in clusters, which give way to small, woody capsules containing furry seeds. Stems are woody and can grow extensively, often requiring support to climb.
