It exhibits a creeping growth habit with slender, prostrate stems that spread along the ground. The leaves are small, oval to elliptical, with a smooth or slightly wavy margin and a glossy surface. Its flowers are small, white in color, and have a tubular shape with a slightly rounded, lobed corolla. The plant produces small, round fruits that are often fleshy and contain seeds.

It is also employed in treating wounds and digestive issues in some indigenous practices.
