It is a small to medium-sized, fast-growing deciduous tree. It has a dense, spreading crown. The leaves are simple, alternate, ovate, or elliptical, with a glossy green upper surface and a whitish, hairy underside. The tree produces small, greenish-yellow flowers in clusters, followed by round to oval fruits that are green when unripe and turn yellow to reddish-brown when ripe. The fruit is edible, with a fleshy, sweet to sour pulp.
August - February
The fruits are rich in vitamin C and are used to treat digestive issues, improve immunity, and relieve constipation.
