Descriptions

It is a large tree. Stem is characterized by its aerial roots, which develop from branches and hang downwards to the ground. Leaves large, broad, and leathery, with an elliptic or ovate shape, arranged alternately along the branches and have entire margins. Fruits are figs, flowers enclosed within a fleshy receptacle. The figs are spherical to pear-shaped and typically green when young, turning purple or black when ripe. Each fig contains numerous tiny seeds.
