It is an epiphytic herb. Pseudobulbs are fleshy and stout and pale yellow. Leaves linear lanceolate. Flowers arise in fascicle, pure white in color, lip with yellow patch and black spots near the base.

It has been used in traditional medicine for its purported anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Its extracts are often utilized to treat joint pain, cuts, burns, and certain skin conditions.
